Vacay Mode | Jin’s November 2022

My brain was on vacation mode all throughout this month as I was traveling EVERY SINGLE WEEKEND! As tiring as it was, I'm so grateful that I was able to travel this much and cherish every single memory I was able to create. Here's a sneak peek of all of my November travels.

Lifestyle: Back to Back Traveling

Vegas

This month I was invited on a last-minute trip to Vegas as my friend had a free room for a convention that was happening there. If you know me, you would know that I am a huuuugee planner, which means that I normally plan my trips several weeks in advance. I normally usually have a packed and full schedule, which makes it hard to last minute hang out on trips. However, I am also someone who loves being flexible and spontaneous when I can and the timing worked out so perfectly! One of my hangouts over the weekend ended up getting canceled and I had a free weekend, which hasn't happened in quite a long time. Therefore, I had to say "yes" when my friend asked me to go. I'm glad I did because it was a fun bonding time!

San Francisco

I also got to visit Stephanie for her 24th birthday weekend in San Francisco! I already knew we were going to have a great time since there's never a dull moment whenever we are traveling. This weekend was no different as it was so much fun with lots of food, inside jokes, and sightseeing. I won't bore you with the details since I vlogged the trip here! I'm so glad I was able to celebrate Stephanie's birthday with her and be there for her on her special weekend.

Galsgiving

I also was able to do a slightly last-minute Friendsgiving with the gals. Although it was nothing crazy, as we literally got KFC to go and ate it at Kelsey's apartment, I wouldn't have had it any other way. We also went out and had a great time with the gals. I'm so glad we were able to squeeze in time for each other as we have all had very hectic schedules the past few weeks.

Korea

The last week of this month was spent in Korea! It was a last-minute trip that I've been thinking about for a hot minute since I wanted to visit family again. I wasn't sure if it was going to happen since I was relying on something to happen in my life (in terms of my work life) to allow this to happen. Luckily, everything worked out in my favor and I was able to book my two weeks vacation to Korea. So far, it's been so packed and so fun! I'll share more next month when I have the full two-week vacation experience! In the meantime, please enjoy a picture I took with my grandpa who I got to visit this weekend. I was scared I wasn't going to be able to see him since it's a bit harder to visit as he lives in the countryside of Korea. However, I was able to coordinate the schedule well and I was so glad I got to see him. Peep him looking so happy as I try to teach him how to do the finger heart.

Lows: Uncertainty

I mentioned previously I was waiting for things to work their way out in terms of my work life in order to go to Korea. Well... long story short, I quit my job! This was a lot harder than I thought it'd be because I had formed a lot of good friendships with my co-workers. I was a huge believer in that you don't have to be friends with your co-workers, but they really opened my eyes to how fun work can be when you do form a friendly relationship with them. I'll definitely miss all the coffee runs and random chit-chats we had in the office, but I had to do what was right in my gut. I felt as though my growth had a stunt here while there's so much I still want to learn and grow in my career field. I'm excited to see what's next for me but I'm definitely scared of the uncertainty of what holds in my future. There's always going to be that scare of "what if I made the wrong decision," but I was never one to let my fear stop me of my full potential because you really don't know unless you try!

Lessons: Feeling Thankful

This month is one of those months where I feel extra thankful for everyone in my life. I'm so thankful to have friends who want to travel with me and create unforgettable memories that I'll hold on to forever. I'm so thankful for friends who invite me to their special moments and celebrate something that's meaningful to them. I'm so thankful for friends who never forget to check in on me and create time in their busy schedules to catch up with me. I'm so thankful for my family who seems to be there for me when I need it the most. Months like these where I have so much to look back on make me extra thankful for everyone in my life.

My Pick of the Month: It Starts With Us

Another month, another Colleen Hoover book? This month, I finished reading It Starts With Us and it only took me three days to read it (which is record time for me). I was super excited to read this book because I had read It Ends With Us previously and I was craving more of the story between Lily and Atlas. I definitely feel like I got the closure I was looking for from the first book! While the first book left me crying and heartbroken, the second book allowed my heart to heal. Definitely recommend reading both of the books!

Throughout my vacay mode month, I was able to see so many of my friends and family. My life has been so hectic but my friends and family are what make my life feel so stable throughout all the chaos. The uncertainty of next month and the other months left of 2022 makes me nervous and scared, but I'm hopeful for what's to come.

Talk to you next month,

-- Jin
